Dr. Bill's Story
Graduated from Hill Hi in 1961. Attended Pacicfic U one year, Washington State for two years, graduated from Loyola Dental school in Chicago 1970. married Carolyn Pasley 1967. Practiced in Corvallis for 20 years. Moved to Sunriver and started a coaching business in 1990. We coach dentist in the business of dentistry. Carolyn has published three books and I speak at all the major dental meetings in the US and Canada. We have been able to see a lot of the world with this business. We have two married daughters. One is a dentist in Portland and one is a teacher in Bend. We enjoy skiing, boating, flying, cycling, and our house in Mexico. Carolyn's mother is 97 and still lives in Hillsboro in her own house. My parents are 91 and live in Corvallis.
To update this entry December 2015. We are still living in Sunriver on a part ime basis, but our real home is in Kalama Washington. this move was precipitated by the increase in tax rates in Oregon. We are still working in our business and our older daughter Christina who is a dentist in Portland is joining the business as an owner. Our other daughter Tiffany who lives in Bend also works in the office. Christina and her husband have on Daughter who is 4 years old. Tiffany and her husband live in Bend and have two boys 3 and 5 years old. These grand children keep us busy. We are blessed. Carolyn and I also live in Mexico 3-4 months in the winter. We built there about 8 years ago. We spend 2-3 months on our boat (Morningsong) every summer in Washington and British Columbia. We have not made it into Alaska yet. We enjoy traveling. Last year we hiked the Inca Trail in Peru, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, and hiked the Haute Route in Switzerland. Life is great.
We are continuing to travel. In 2017, we traveled to the South Island of New Zealand, Patagonia in Argentina, A small boat cruise in Western Europe focusing on WWII history with David Eisenhower in May, spent two months on our boat in the San Juans, and we hiked across England on the Wainwright trail in September. We are enjoying our grand children when we are in Sunriver.
We have officially become Oregon residents again. We are back in Sunriver but plan on moving into Bend this fall to be closer to our grand children. We are taking the Morninsong to Alaska for the summer.

river where we have lived 28 years. While on the boat in Alaska it sold. Now we had to find something closer to Bend and our grand kids. We moved to Widgi Creek west of Bend. Came home from Alaska, took the kids on a Disney cruise then went to Spain to hike in the Basque country followed by biking in Sicily. Now to unpack the boxes. We are on the 11th tee at Widgi.
During the last year we have been busy. We still work in our business even though our daughter owns the business. We are enjoying living in Widgi Creek near Bend. In the spring we traveled to hike in Bhutan where we visited the Tiger's Nest. We then went to Cambodia and Thailand. We. did spend two months on our boat in the San Juans. We had grand kids to take crabbing and exploring. In the fall we biked in Croatia and hiked in the Dolomite mountains in in Italy. I did go elk hunting in Idaho, then we took the family to Kuaii where I hunted pigs. . I introduced our 9 year old grand daughter to hunting. She was very interested in all the organs as we field dressed the pigs.We went to Mexico until we came home to the Corona virus. We are healthy and are hunkered down in our house.
The past two years have been a blur. We returned to Bend in March 2020. We got cabin fever and decided to do a road trip to Nashville where purchase an 67 Austin Healy. We trailered it home. We are having fun driving it around Central Oregon. We have c0ntinued to spend 2-3 months on our boat Morningsong each summer and go to Mexico for 4 months in the winter. We always said we would start plying golf when we got old. We now live on a golf course and are playing. We just dd our first trip this fall. We flew into Bangor Maine and drove down the coast ending in Albany NY. We did a week long bicycle trip in the Hudson Valley. We used E-bikes.
This year things are back to normal for us. We are both grateful for our health and our family. Carolyn and I are spending our winters in Mexico and our summers o our boat. The travel restrictions have been lifted and we are happy with that. We are able to go to Kauai twice this year. We just returned from a safari in Kenya and Tanzania. We also spent a few days in Paris on the way and London on the way home. We were able to get to the Hill Hi reunion this summer. We enjoyed seeing old friends. We are very grateful for our life.
